Our History
Creating Meaningful Impact
We are a charity organization established in 2021 in order to promote self-sustainability for struggling single moms and vulnerable children who are victims of war in underserved communities in West and Central Africa. This initiative was inspired by our mothers who, growing up, showed us how to make a difference in the lives of others. Out of the little they had, they always made sure to feed and clothe orphans and struggling families in the neighborhood. Sometimes, they paid for medication and hospital bills for those who could not afford it. We were opportune to have experienced the joy and hope these gestures brought into the lives of both young and old. Mom would always say, “Despite the challenges in the world, you can always make a difference by starting with one person.”
Therefore, this organization seeks to continue working in the same light and direction, given the increasing number of people in need all over the world, with a mission to empower single mothers and vulnerable children affected by political conflict in West and Central African countries. We believe that every child deserves to have the basics of life within a safe and nurturing environment, and that single moms, often facing immense challenges, are key to building resilient communities.
In addition to empowering single moms and vulnerable children in situations of war, JLGO facilitates the integration of newly immigrated families into Canada from West and Central Africa. We provide essential resources, language support, and community connections to help them thrive in their new environment. Our holistic approach ensures that families not only find stability but also build a brighter future.
Join us in our mission to uplift and empower those in need. Together, we can create lasting change!
